The Emerging Manager Program

Quantopian’s Emerging Manager Program incubates new talent by finding and allocating capital to the best quants in the world.

The Emerging Manager Program offers:

1. Track Record: Top performing emerging managers will be eligible to receive an independently corroborated track record after 3 consecutive years of proven performance.

2. Capital Allocations: Quantopian currently makes institutional-size allocations, and allocations may grow as performance warrants. We offer competitive terms on payout and deal structure in our licensing agreements.

3. Retain Ownership of IP: You retain ownership of your intellectual property.

4. Top tier trading and prime broker access: Our state-of-the art trading infrastructure and experienced trading team will help you make the most of your strategy. Our prime broker relationship helps get you strategy execution and financing rates that ordinarily are only available to the largest financial institutions.

How It Works

There are two ways to submit your strategy for an evaluation.

Quantopian Platform

Build your strategy on Quantopian’s platform and submit to our daily contest

Your Own Platform

If you have a fully automated trading strategy with an ability to corroborate at least 6 months of out-of-sample trading, you can reach out to SLEE@quantopian.com to learn more about the process.

The Evaluation

Should your strategy meet our investment criteria, you’ll be accepted into our Emerging Manager Program.

The Speaker

Seong Lee

Director of Quant Strategy, Quantopian

Seong Lee leads Quantopian's Emerging Manager Program, focused on finding and allocating to professional quants and hedge funds that fit Quantopian's investment criteria.

Quantopian offers license agreements for algorithms that fit our investment strategy, and the licensing emerging managers are paid based on their strategy's individual performance.

Seong's background is in computer science and finance where he worked as a software engineer in advertising technology before joining Quantopian.
